TV Actress Arrested Over Theft Allegations

Indian television actress Rupa Dutta has been arrested by police. She was taken into custody on Thursday (October 31) night from the Nandaram area of Boro Bazar.

While shopping at Adi Banshtala Lane in the Posta police station area of Kolkata, the actress was accused of stealing gold and cash from a woman’s bag. This information has been reported in Indian media.

It is reported that on October 15, the actress allegedly stole around 20 grams of mangalsutra, a 21-gram gold chain, two gold earrings, and 4,000 rupees in cash from a woman’s bag. Based on the victim’s complaint, the police began an investigation. About 15 days after the complaint, the police were able to arrest Rupa.

Earlier, on March 13, 2022, actress Rupa had been arrested at the Kolkata Book Fair over allegations of pickpocketing. After the arrest, police recovered 75,000 rupees and several purses from her possession.
