Two Arrested with Firearms in Cumilla

A joint force team conducted a series of operations early this morning in Cumilla, leading to the arrest of two alleged arms traders. The authorities seized four shotguns and other items during the operation, which took place in two separate locations across the city.

The arrested individuals were identified as Md. Abu Haider, 40, from the Muradpur area of Cumilla Kotwali Police Station, and Mujibar Rahman, also known as Penu Mirza, 38, from the Nurpur area.

Details of the Operation

The joint force team carried out separate raids in different parts of Cumilla, successfully apprehending the suspects and confiscating several items from their possession. Among the recovered goods were:

According to Mohinul Islam, the Officer-in-Charge of Cumilla Kotwali Model Police Station, the suspects were arrested with these items, which are believed to be linked to illegal arms trading.

This operation highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to curb the illegal trade and possession of firearms in the region.
