In a tragic road accident in Dinajpur, two people lost their lives when a passenger bus collided head-on with a tractor on Saturday, 27 December. The incident occurred in the Birahimpur cluster village area of Ghoraghat Upazila.
According to police sources, the bus involved in the crash was a Molla Enterprise service, departing from Dinajpur for Dhaka with numerous passengers on board. The tractor, reportedly carrying a load of sand, collided head-on with the bus around midday. The impact proved fatal for the tractor driver, identified as Juin, aged 23, who died instantly at the scene.
The identity and address of the second deceased, the bus helper, are yet to be confirmed by authorities.

The Officer-in-Charge of Ghoraghat Police Station, Shahidul Islam, confirmed the incident, stating, “The collision occurred in front of Birahimpur village. Unfortunately, two people lost their lives. Immediate action was taken, and the bus has been taken into police custody. However, the driver of the bus fled the scene following the accident.”
Current Status and Investigation
Following the collision, local police secured the bus for further investigation. Efforts are ongoing to trace the bus driver, who remains at large. Authorities are examining whether speed, overloading, or road conditions contributed to the accident.
Eyewitnesses described a scene of chaos as villagers rushed to assist the victims and clear the road. Emergency services were quick to arrive, but the severity of the crash meant that immediate medical intervention for the tractor driver was impossible.
