Two Warehouses Burned Down in Nabinagar Fire

In a devastating fire in Nabinagar of Brahmanbaria, a tea stall and two warehouses filled with daily essentials were completely gutted. The fire broke out around 5 a.m. on Monday (November 3) at Jamal Mia Market near Sonali Bank in the municipality’s main bazar area.

Upon receiving the news, a unit of the Fire Service rushed to the scene and brought the blaze under control after extensive efforts.

According to eyewitnesses and local traders, the Fire Service was informed immediately after the fire started. However, before they could arrive, all goods inside the two warehouses had already been destroyed. It is suspected that the fire originated from an electrical short circuit.

Market owner Jamal Mia said the burned warehouses contained wholesale traders’ products. Traders Narayan Shah, Swapan Chandra Saha, and Akhtar Hossain, among others, suffered significant losses due to the fire.

Nabinagar Fire Service Station Officer Debabrata Sarkar stated that upon receiving the news from locals, the team reached the spot and used river water through pipes to douse the flames. After nearly an hour of effort, the fire was brought under control. Several warehouses were burned, but the surrounding shops and the nearby bank were saved before the fire could spread further, he added.
