Two Women Arrested in Gaibandha with 50 Bottles of Phensedyl

Two women drug traffickers have been arrested in Sadullapur, Gaibandha, with 50 bottles of phensedyl, according to the Department of Narcotics Control.

They were apprehended on Thursday afternoon from the Ekbarpur area on the Dhaka-Rangpur highway.

The arrested individuals are Beli Akter (24), wife of Rohan Islam from Chelopara area of Bogura town, and Ayna Begum (32), wife of Aktar Hossain from Mogolhat area of Lalmonirhat Sadar.

The Department of Narcotics Control stated that a checkpoint was set up in the area based on secret information. During the search, a CNG-run auto-rickshaw was stopped, and the two women, disguised as passengers in burqas, were found carrying 25 bottles each, totalling 50 bottles of phensedyl, which were seized and they were arrested.

Deputy Director Shah Newaz of the Gaibandha Department of Narcotics Control confirmed that a case has been filed against the two women under the Narcotics Control Act at Sadullapur police station.
