UK Weighs Possibility of Deploying Troops to Ukraine: Defence Minister

Britain remains prepared “to consider putting boots on the ground” in Ukraine to support the enforcement of a future peace settlement, Defence Minister Jonathan Healey stated on Wednesday.

Speaking to ITV, Healey emphasised: “The prime minister has made clear that he’s ready to consider putting UK boots on the ground in the circumstances of a negotiated peace.”

Healey’s comments coincided with a virtual meeting of NATO military chiefs from all 32 member states on Wednesday.

Dan Jarvis, the UK’s Security Minister, elaborated further in an interview with Sky News: “More than 200 military planners from 30 nations have been working together to set up what is being called a coalition of the willing.”
