Students suddenly blocked Mirpur Road in front of Dhaka College on Sunday afternoon, leading to traffic congestion in nearby areas. The students took position after noon and left after 2 pm.
Ramna Division’s Additional Deputy Commissioner Jisanul Haque said they persuaded the students to leave. Deputy Commissioner Md Masud Alam stated that classes of the independent university for the seven colleges, “Dhaka Central University,” were scheduled to begin today but did not. In protest, students staged the blockade demanding immediate commencement of classes.
