Union Social Worker Killed in Motorcycle Accident in Thakurgaon

In Ranisankail, Thakurgaon, a union social worker, Mahbub Alam (40), was killed in a motorcycle accident on Sunday (30 November) morning. Another person was injured in the incident, which occurred in the Khutiyatuli area of the upazila.

According to eyewitnesses, Mahbub Alam was travelling to the office on a motorcycle with his colleague Khairul Islam. While overtaking a car, they lost control and skidded onto the road.

At that moment, a covered van coming from the opposite direction ran over their motorcycle. Local residents rescued them and took them to hospital, where the attending doctor declared Mahbub Alam dead. The other injured person has been admitted to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital.

Ranisankail police sub-inspector (SI) Kamlesh confirmed the incident, stating that the covered van involved in the accident has been seized, but the driver remains at large. Legal proceedings regarding the case are ongoing.
