In a special operation, the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized USD 30,000 in Satkhira.
The operation was conducted on the morning of Wednesday, 17 September 2025, at the Tetultala area of Madra border under the jurisdiction of the 33rd BGB Battalion.
Acting on confidential intelligence, authorities learned that a significant amount of US dollars was being smuggled into India via the Tetultala area, located between Border Pillars 13/3-S, 8 and 9 of the Madra BOP. Following this information, the battalion commander deployed a special investigative team from the Madra BOP to monitor the area discreetly.
At approximately 9:00 a.m., a BGB patrol team observed a suspected individual moving towards the border. Upon pursuit, the person abandoned a plastic bag and fled the scene. A subsequent inspection of the bag revealed three bundles of 100-dollar bills, amounting to a total of USD 30,000. The current market value of the seized amount is estimated at BDT 3,637,200.
