Dhaka, 18 December 2025 – Advocate Nipun Ray Chowdhury, member of the BNP Central Executive Committee and General Secretary of Dhaka District BNP, has urged the nation to confront and defeat anti-independence forces through the ballot box. Speaking at a major religious and community gathering, he emphasised that the country’s freedom and democracy have repeatedly been undermined by these anti-national elements.
“Only by exercising their voting rights can the people take the right decision and overcome the forces that seek to derail our independence,” said Nipun Ray. “A government chosen by the people’s mandate is the only one capable of guiding the nation on the correct path.”
The remarks were delivered on Thursday evening at 8:00 PM during the Shri Shri Tarakbramh Mahānam Yajna at Shri Shri Radhamadhab Jiu Temple, located in Rajendrapur Bagheir Nagar, under South Keraniganj police station.
Nipun Ray Chowdhury highlighted that attempts to manipulate or obstruct the upcoming elections would be futile. “The elections will take place in February, and no one can stop them. Those who opposed independence in 1971 continue to act against Bangladesh even today. The nation cannot expect anything positive from them. Anti-independence figures and war criminals will never work in the interest of the people,” he asserted.
He further emphasised the developmental potential of a BNP-led government. “If BNP is elected, every family will receive a family card under the name of the female head, which can be used to purchase essential goods. This initiative will empower women and benefit households across the country.”
Nipun Ray also called for the victory of Goyeshwar Chandra Ray, the BNP candidate in the upcoming elections, under the party’s electoral symbol of the paddy sheaf. He criticised attempts by certain religious businessmen to mislead voters and stressed that women’s empowerment is actively promoted and implemented by BNP leader Tarique Rahman, not just promised.
The event was attended by prominent local leaders, including Tegoria Union Parishad Chairman Haji Lat Mia, Dhaka District Krishak Dal Convenor Juel Molla, South Keraniganj Thana Jubo Dal Joint Convenor Selim Mollas, along with religious figures and a large gathering of devotees.
