After a crushing Super Over defeat last match, Gulf Giants bounced back impressively, chasing down 158 against Sharjah Warriorz. Rahmanullah Gurbaz’s composed 50 laid the foundation while Aayan Khan’s 3/17 dismantled the Warriorz middle order.
The Warriors began aggressively, with Johnson Charles striking early boundaries. Mark Adair removed Tom Kohler-Cadmore, and soon after, Kusal Mendis hit a four and a six. Aayan Khan’s introduction changed the game, taking quick wickets of Kusal Mendis and Johnson Charles. By the tenth over, the Warriorz were struggling at 69 for 3.
Tight bowling from Dawson and Khan saw the Warriors’ scoring stagnate, but Dwaine Pretorius’s late assault took them to 157/6. The Giants, missing Pathum Nissanka, relied on James Vince and Gurbaz. Vince’s attacking start, including three fours and a six in the second over, set the tone. Gurbaz smashed two sixes off Tim Southee, forming a rapid 50-run partnership.
Although the Warriors regained some control through Raza and Theekshana, the Giants’ top-order firepower and timely hitting from Omarzai secured the win. Sean Dickson sealed the match, giving Gulf Giants a satisfying return to form.
