Week-Long Tree Fair and Plantation Drive Begins in Narail

A seven-day tree plantation campaign and fair has officially commenced in Narail district under the slogan:
“Let’s do planned afforestation, build a green Bangladesh.”

The initiative aims to raise awareness about environmental conservation and promote sustainable afforestation practices within the local community.

Inauguration Ceremony

The event was formally inaugurated at 11:00 am on the Shilpakala Academy premises by Deputy Commissioner Sharmin Akhter Jahan. The campaign is being jointly organised by the District Administration and the Forest Department.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), Lincoln Biswas, who highlighted the importance of community participation in building an eco-friendly future for Bangladesh.

Campaign Highlights

One of the key components of the campaign was the free distribution of saplings to students from various educational institutions. The distributed plants include:

  • Fruit-bearing trees
  • Medicinal plants

This gesture aims to instil a sense of environmental responsibility in young minds while encouraging them to take part in tree planting from an early age.
