Popular actress Disha Parmar, wife of Indian Idol-famed singer Rahul Vaidya, embraced motherhood in 2023, welcoming a baby girl into their family. While the couple’s home was soon filled with joy and laughter, the beginning of Disha’s journey into motherhood was anything but easy.
Since the birth of her daughter, Disha has remained away from acting. Recently, she opened up about the emotional and physical struggles she faced during the early months of motherhood — a period marked by sleepless nights, anxiety, and deep emotional challenges.
According to reports in Indian media, Disha faced a particularly distressing issue soon after giving birth — her newborn refused to breastfeed. Whenever Disha tried to nurse her, the baby would start crying uncontrollably. Watching her child in such distress, Disha too would often break down in tears, feeling helpless and unsure of what to do.
In a recent interview, she recalled,
“When I saw tears in my daughter’s eyes, I couldn’t hold back my own. I started doubting myself — I thought perhaps my milk wasn’t enough, or there was something wrong with me.”
Unable to resolve the situation on her own, Disha eventually sought professional advice. Doctors and nurses advised her to feed the baby formula milk instead of breast milk. Though reluctant at first, she followed their guidance. Even after returning home, the challenges persisted — her daughter continued to cry frequently, and Disha’s anxiety only deepened.
However, with the support of a specialist doctor, gradual improvements began to show. Her baby eventually adapted, and the tension in their home slowly eased.
Speaking about those difficult days, Disha expressed that motherhood, though portrayed as the ultimate joy, comes with its share of worries, fears, and emotional vulnerability.
“Motherhood isn’t just about happiness,” Disha said softly.
“It brings with it moments of doubt, sleepless nights, and an overwhelming sense of responsibility. But every tear, every struggle — it’s all worth it in the end.”
