The Bangladesh cricket team has recently been hitting an impressive number of sixes in T20 internationals, drawing attention from cricket fans worldwide.
Team and Individual Statistics
Individually, Bangladesh’s batsmen are also making their mark. Last year, the team hit 122 sixes in 24 matches, breaking the 100-sixes barrier in a single calendar year for the first time. This year, with 109 sixes in just 14 matches, surpassing that record is only a matter of time.
In a recent match against the Netherlands:
| Player | Match | Achievement |
| Parvez Hossain | vs Netherlands | Most sixes in a calendar year for Bangladesh |
| Tanzid Hasan | vs Netherlands | Surpassed Parvez’s record with consecutive sixes |
At the post-match press conference, Tanzid Hasan explained that they bat according to the situation of the wicket, maintaining a natural rhythm while focusing on partnerships. He praised his understanding with Parvez, noting it helps in planning and achieving their targets.
The Bangladesh team is now adopting a more aggressive T20 strategy, giving each player the freedom to play according to their role.
Power-hitting coach Julian Wood works closely with players like Tanzid to improve their hitting mechanics. Tanzid commented that for a batsman of his style, hard-hitting can be challenging, but with Wood’s guidance, he is focusing on balance and shot shape to achieve even stronger hitting.
