The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Sylhet, Md. Sarwar Alam, has been issued a show-cause notice by the court. The order was passed last Thursday (11 September) by the Senior Assistant Judge (Sadar Court) of Sylhet.
By Sunday evening (14 September), however, the notice had not yet reached the office of the Deputy Commissioner, according to Mr. Sarwar Alam himself.

The court instructed DC Sarwar Alam to submit a written explanation within 15 working days.
The development was confirmed to the media on Sunday night by Irshadul Haque, the lawyer representing senior teacher Abeda Haque of the same institution.
