Young Man Killed Over Video Dispute

In Sonagazi, Feni, an auto-rickshaw driver named Md. Sujon was beaten and stabbed to death over a video recording. The main accused, Md. Mamun, his wife Asma Akter, and Mamun’s mother-in-law Jussia Begum have been arrested by the police. Sujon was the son of Md. Mostofa from South Charsahabikari village, Ward No. 3, Char Darbesh Union.

According to local sources, 26-year-old Sujon lived in a rented house near Jamadar Bazar with his wife and four-year-old daughter. The accused, Mamun and his wife Asma Akter, lived in the adjacent room.

Preliminary investigation revealed that on Sunday (November 2) morning, a video capturing intimate moments of Asma Akter was recorded on Sujon’s mobile phone. That night, an enraged Mamun attacked Sujon, beating and stabbing him severely.

Locals rushed to the scene after hearing Sujon’s cries and first admitted him to Sonagazi Upazila Health Complex. As his condition worsened, he was transferred via Feni Sadar Hospital to Chittagong Medical College Hospital, where he died around 3 am while receiving treatment.

Sujon’s nephew, Tarek Khan, stated that following the video incident, Mamun and his family murdered Sujon that very night. Initially, he was severely beaten and then critically stabbed with a sharp blade.

Officer-in-charge of Sonagazi Model Police Station, Md. Saiful Islam, said the police launched an operation and arrested three individuals. A murder case is underway, and the investigation continues. Other involved parties will be identified and brought to justice. The deceased’s body has been sent to Feni General Hospital morgue for post-mortem.
