In Halishahar, Chattogram city, a young man named Md. Akbar (35) was stabbed to death in front of his house.
The incident occurred on Friday (7 November) around 11:00 pm in the Maizpara area of Halishahar. The deceased, Akbar, was the son of Abdur Rahman from the area and worked at a local scrap shop.
According to local and eyewitness sources, Akbar was standing in front of his house when he was stabbed. He was taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
The deceased’s younger sister, Saima, said that a neighbor named Rana had kept a friend’s motorcycle with him for collecting a due payment. During an argument between Rana and the friend, Akbar was standing in front of his house when he was stabbed.
SI Nure Alam Asheq of Chattogram Medical College Police Outpost stated that family members brought Akbar to the hospital around 11:30 pm, and the attending doctor declared him dead.
Officer-in-Charge of Halishahar Police Station, Mohammad Nurul Absar, told Khaborwala/TSN that Akbar was stabbed to death over a monetary dispute. The body has been sent to the morgue of Chattogram Medical College Hospital for autopsy. No case has been filed yet; the family is expected to file a case after the burial.
