YouTube is rolling out its new Recap feature this week, allowing users to revisit what they watched or listened to over the year. At the same time, Amazon and Spotify are promoting their own annual “wraps.”
According to Spotify’s web page, Spotify Wrapped provides a detailed view of a listener’s personal music habits, favourite tracks, and the types of media they explored throughout the year.
YouTube Recap uses a person’s watch history to highlight a variety of media formats and genres. The company noted in a blog post, “YouTube Recap uniquely highlights interests, deep dives, and moments you explored this year. You’ll get a set of up to 12 different cards that spotlight your top channels, interests, and even the evolution of your viewing habits or which personality type you fall into based on the videos you loved to watch.”
Currently, the Spotify Wrapped 2025 web page is under development, but users can revisit the top songs of 2024. Once the annual wrap is released, users can share their personalized stats on social media, serving as a form of advertisement for the platform.
This year, Amazon has launched its 2025 Delivered experience, allowing users to view their lineup of favourite music, podcasts, and audiobooks.
| Feature | Details |
|---|---|
| Recap/Wrap | Shows users’ yearly media habits |
| Number of cards | Up to 12 |
| Main focus | Top channels, interests, personality type |
| Amazon 2025 Delivered | Virtual festival poster and personal insights |
Amazon noted on its blog, “From the moment you snap on your virtual festival wristband, 2025 Delivered will share personal insights from the year, including your most-played artists, tracks, and genres. It will remind you of moments like how your reggaetón obsession morphed into K-pop therapy.”
