Zakaria Taher Sumon, Secretary for Employment Affairs of the BNP and Convener of the Cumilla South District BNP, has accused Jamaat-e-Islami of deceiving people under the guise of religion.
He made these remarks while addressing the biennial conference of the Ujirpur Union BNP on Friday evening (1st August), held at the Miar Bazar School grounds in Chauddagram Upazila, Cumilla.

Sumon warned that vested interests are attempting to sabotage the upcoming elections. He urged party members and the general public to be vigilant and protect the democratic rights of citizens.

He strongly condemned Jamaat for misleading rural women, claiming their votes would guarantee entry into heaven — a tactic he described as deeply deceptive and religiously dishonest.
