Vartika Singh, crowned Miss Diva Universe 2019, has made her Bollywood debut with the film Hakk from Junglee Pictures. Directed by Suparn Verma and starring Imran Hashmi and Yami Gautam, the film is inspired by the Shah Bano case. Vartika, thrilled to start her acting career with such a meaningful project, shared her thoughts in an interview with Filmfare.

Reflecting on her debut film’s release, Vartika said, "Honestly, everything still feels surreal. I’ve dreamt of this moment since childhood, but when it actually happens, you just want to sit quietly for a moment to absorb it. It was a mix of excitement, nervousness, and immense gratitude. I will never forget the experience of seeing myself on the big screen for the first time. It was a blend of pride, wonder, and pure joy."

In Hakk, Vartika portrays the character of Sayra, a role that deeply resonated with her. She explained, "What attracted me to Sayra was her simplicity and silent strength. She doesn’t speak much, but she has deep emotions and feelings within her. I was fascinated by how much can be expressed without words. The script of Hakk felt very real and grounded. There was no exaggeration, just honesty, and this connection to the story made me realise that I had to be a part of it."

The film has received positive reviews, with critics praising Vartika's performance. She shared, "Reading all the positive feedback has been an incredible experience. Many have described me as confident, poised, and natural in my first film, and I am truly grateful. When your hard work is recognised, it feels amazing."

Talking about her transition from modelling to acting, Vartika said, "This journey has been a mix of learning, unlearning, and growing. Both worlds are creatively fulfilling in different ways, but acting offers a more personal and authentic space to express emotions. The shift from model to actress wasn’t easy, but I always believed in evolving and moving forward with time. Every step has brought valuable lessons."

When asked about the kind of roles she hopes to take on in the future, Vartika replied, "I’m drawn to characters that challenge me, that stir my emotions. I prefer stories that stand on the ground of reality but carry a glimmer of hope or poetic beauty. I love characters that evolve over time, who are imperfect yet very real."

Vartika Singh’s acting journey is off to an inspiring start, and her passion for the craft promises exciting roles in the future.
