2 Arrested Over Mob Attack, Robbery of Iranian Nationals in Dhaka’s Bashundhara

Mob attacks Iranian nationals, vandalizes car in Dhaka’s Bashundhara Residential Area
According to police, the two Iranians, who had arrived in Bangladesh just two days earlier for a month-long stay, were attacked by a group of people.

Two men have been arrested in connection with the assault and robbery of two Iranian nationals during a mob attack in Dhaka’s Bashundhara Residential Area on Tuesday afternoon.

The suspects, identified as Abdullah (20) and Sabbir Mia (19), were taken into custody, confirmed Sub-Inspector Habibur Rahman of Vatara Police Station.

According to police, the two Iranians, who had arrived in Bangladesh just two days earlier for a month-long stay, were attacked by a group of people. They sustained injuries and were allegedly robbed of cash and mobile phones during the assault.

The injured foreigners were taken to Kurmitola General Hospital for treatment before being escorted back to their hotel in Banani.

Following the attack, Assistant Sub-Inspector Chhoton Chandra Das of Vatara Police Station filed a case.
