Munshiganj Medicine Shop Fined Tk 50,000 for Selling Expired Drugs

The National Consumer Rights Protection Department has imposed a fine of Taka 50,000 on a medicine shop in Munshiganj for storing and displaying expired medicines, officials confirmed today.

A departmental team conducted an inspection at Bagmamudali Para in Munshiganj Municipality and issued the fine to Lazz Pharma for violating consumer safety regulations.

The inspection drive was led by Asif Al Azad, Assistant Director of the Munshiganj District Office of the National Consumer Rights Protection Department.

Officials present during the operation included:

  • Md. Jamal Uddin Molla, Sadar Upazila Sanitary Inspector
  • Shahnaz Begum, General Secretary of Sadar Upazila CAB

This action is part of ongoing efforts by the department to ensure public health safety by preventing the sale and distribution of expired or unsafe medicines.
