China announced on Thursday that North Korea’s Foreign Minister, Choe Son Hui, will visit the country from Saturday, 27 September, to Tuesday, 30 September, following an invitation from Beijing’s top diplomat, Wang Yi.
The visit comes weeks after North Korean leader Kim Jong Un attended a large-scale military parade in Beijing, highlighting the ongoing diplomatic engagement between the two nations.
“The foreign minister of the DPRK, Choe Son Hui, will visit China from 27 to 30 September,” the Chinese foreign ministry said in a statement.
No further details regarding the agenda of the visit or planned meetings have yet been released.
