Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has recently shared insights into the challenging early years of his acting career. Despite being born into a celebrity family, Saif faced severe financial difficulties that forced him to make compromises, including accepting an unethical proposal from a female producer.
In a recent interview, Saif revealed that at the age of 21, he married Amrita Singh, who was ten years his senior. By the time he was 25, his first child, Sara Ali Khan, was born, placing significant family responsibilities on his shoulders.
During this period, Saif recalled receiving an offer of 1,000 rupees per week under a bizarre condition from a female producer.
Saif described the situation: “The female producer offered me 1,000 rupees per week, but the condition was that I had to kiss her on the cheek ten times each time I collected the payment. People assume I have always been financially privileged, but that was far from reality.”
This revelation highlights the harsh realities of the film industry, where even star children can face exploitation during the early stages of their careers.
Being the son of Patodi’s Nawab Mansoor Ali Khan and actress Sharmila Tagore, many assumed Saif’s path in Bollywood was smooth. However, he clarified that the early 1990s were marked by struggle and persistence before he established himself as a leading actor.
Saif was recently seen in the Netflix original film Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins. He will next appear in Priyadarshan’s Heywan, sharing the screen with actor Akshay Kumar.
