Aishwarya and Abhishek File Lawsuit Against YouTube

Bollywood power couple Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan have taken a firm stand against the circulation of AI-generated deepfake videos featuring them. According to Indian media reports, the couple has filed a lawsuit against YouTube and its parent company, Google, alleging the dissemination of defamatory and misleading content.

They are seeking $450,000 in damages (approximately 4 crore Bangladeshi Taka) from Google and others, along with a permanent injunction against the sharing of such deepfake videos.

The central focus of their complaint includes hundreds of links and screenshots of videos on YouTube in which AI has been used to create content portraying them in:

• Horrifying scenarios
• Sexually suggestive situations
• Fictitious and fabricated circumstances

In the court petition, the couple stated that multiple videos use their images and voices in a false, misleading, and defamatory manner.
