The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced a 16-member squad for the three-match One Day International (ODI) series against Afghanistan.
After two years, wicketkeeper-batsman Nurul Hasan Sohan has made a return to the ODI squad. Alongside him, right-handed batsman Saif Hassan earns his maiden call-up to the ODI team, having impressed with his consistent performances in T20 cricket.
Sohan last featured in an ODI in September 2023, against New Zealand at Mirpur, while Saif’s inclusion comes as a reward for his ongoing form. However, opener Parvez Hossain Emon has been left out of the squad, and Litton Das is unavailable due to injury.
Captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz, along with Nazmul Hossain Shanto, Hasan Mahmud, Tanvir Islam, and Nahid Rana, will depart for the United Arab Emirates tonight.
Meanwhile, left-handed openers Naim Sheikh and Soumya Sarkar are still awaiting visa clearance.
The three-match ODI series will take place at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi, on the following dates:
| Match | Date | Venue |
| 1st ODI | 8 October | Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi |
| 2nd ODI | 11 October | Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi |
| 3rd ODI | 14 October | Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi |
