Tofail Ahmed, member of the Advisory Council of the Awami League and former Member of Parliament for Bhola-1, has not shown improvement in his health condition. On Saturday, 4 October, at around 8:00 PM, his blood pressure and pulse dropped. Although his condition stabilised slightly afterwards, it is currently described as critical, according to a family source.
Tofail Ahmed’s personal assistant, Abul Khair, stated: “Sir’s condition remains unchanged.”
Tofail Ahmed has been receiving treatment at Square Hospital, Dhaka, for approximately ten days due to various age-related complications. On Saturday night, some media outlets reported his death.
Responding to the reports, Morshedul Rat, a representative from the hospital’s Customer Care, told the media at around 10:45 PM: “Such rumours have been circulating for the past week. Many people have been calling us to check. He is admitted in the hospital’s ICU. His latest condition can be confirmed by the doctors. If there is any serious development, we will inform the media immediately.”
A family member added: “At around 8:00 PM, his blood pressure and pulse dropped. While his condition has become slightly stable again, it remains critical.”
