Vance Warns of ‘Tough Task’ in Disarming Hamas and Rebuilding Gaza

Jerusalem, Wednesday — United States Vice President JD Vance on Wednesday acknowledged that major challenges lie ahead in both disarming Hamas and rebuilding Gaza, as part of the US-brokered ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinian militant group.

Speaking at a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem, Vance outlined Washington’s dual commitment to ensuring regional stability and improving humanitarian conditions in Gaza.

Vance’s statement underscores Washington’s continued involvement in Middle East diplomacy, as the Biden–Trump administration seeks to balance Israeli security concerns with humanitarian reconstruction in Gaza.
