Father Killed After Being Hit by Son’s Stick

In Madan upazila of Netrokona, an elderly man named Mostafa Mia was killed after being struck by his son with a stick. On Sunday (November 2), Madan Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Shamsul Alam Shah confirmed the matter to the media.

The incident occurred around 10 p.m. on Saturday (November 1) at Ghatua village in Maghan Union of the upazila. The deceased, Mostafa Mia, was the son of the late Abdul Majid of the same village.

According to locals, Mostafa’s son, Sajjad Mia (25), is mentally unstable. On Saturday night, after dinner, Mostafa went to sleep in his room. Suddenly, Sajjad entered the room and struck his father with a stick, killing him on the spot.

OC Md. Shamsul Alam Shah said that a man named Mostafa Mia was killed by his son, who is reportedly mentally unstable. Police have been sent to the area, and further legal action will be taken according to the family’s decision.
