Two Arrested After Train Stabbings in Cambridgeshire

British police have arrested two suspects following a stabbing incident on a train in Cambridgeshire, eastern England, which left several people injured and taken to hospital on Saturday.

“We are currently responding to an incident on a train to Huntingdon where multiple people have been stabbed,” the British Transport Police said in a statement on X (formerly Twitter). “Two people have been arrested,” the force confirmed.

Cambridgeshire Police separately stated that “a number of people have been taken to hospital,” though no details have yet been released regarding the nature of their injuries or their current conditions.

Armed officers were deployed to the scene, and the train involved was brought to a halt at Huntingdon, a historic market town in eastern England.

Train operator London North Eastern Railway (LNER) announced that all rail lines through the area had been closed while emergency services responded to the incident at Huntingdon station.

LNER, which operates routes connecting London with the east of England and Scotland, warned passengers to expect “major disruption” and advised against travelling until further notice.

Emergency responders remain on site as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the attack.
