Women Cricketers’ Salaries Increased: Who Gets How Much

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has decided to increase the salaries of players in the Bangladesh women’s cricket team. The decision was finalized during a board meeting held in Mirpur on Monday.

According to the new decision, the monthly salary of women cricketers has been increased by up to 40,000 Taka. Previously, players in the ‘A’ category received 120,000 Taka per month, which has now been raised to 160,000 Taka. Players in the ‘B’ category now receive 135,000 Taka, up from 100,000 Taka. ‘C’ category players, who previously earned 70,000 Taka, will now get 95,000 Taka. The salary for ‘D’ category players has increased to 80,000 Taka from 60,000 Taka.

In addition, the BCB has decided to provide an extra allowance of 30,000 Taka for national team captains and 20,000 Taka for vice-captains.

Effective from July 1 of this year, the ‘A’ category includes Nigar Sultana, Nahida Akter, and Sharmin Akter. Players in the ‘B’ category include Farzana Haque, Ritu Moni, Fahima Khatun, Marufa Akter, Rabeya Khan, and Sobhna Mostari. Swarna Akter is in the ‘C’ category. The ‘D’ category includes Sumaiya Akter, Fariha Islam, Rubaiya Haider, Sanjida Akter, and Nishita Akter.

Players outside this contract who get an opportunity in the national team will receive a monthly salary of 60,000 Taka.
