India and Pakistan to Face Each Other in Cricket This Month

Due to prolonged political tensions, India and Pakistan have not played a bilateral series for more than a decade. The two arch-rivals only meet in tournaments organized by the International Cricket Council (ICC). This month, the two sides are set to face each other again in the Rising Stars Asia Cup, giving cricket fans an exciting opportunity.

The tournament, organized by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), will begin on November 14 in Doha, Qatar. According to the schedule, India ‘A’ and Pakistan Shaheens (‘A’ team) will clash on November 16. Both teams are placed in Group ‘B’ of the tournament.

The competition, long known as the “ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup,” has been renamed the “Rising Stars Asia Cup.” Initially, the tournament featured Under-23 teams, but now full ICC member nations send their respective ‘A’ teams.

In this edition, India and Pakistan will face each other in Group ‘B,’ along with the United Arab Emirates and Oman. On the opening day, Pakistan will play against Oman, while India will face the UAE. Later, on November 18, India will play Oman, and Pakistan will take on the UAE.

Group ‘A’ features Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Hong Kong, and Sri Lanka. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals on November 21, and the final match will be held on November 23, marking the conclusion of the tournament.
