China has announced the suspension of a ban on exports to the United States of certain critical materials used in semiconductor production, the country’s commerce ministry said on Sunday.
The restrictions, which cover dual-use items linked to gallium, antimony and germanium, will be lifted until 27 November 2026, the ministry stated.
These materials are essential for the manufacture of advanced chips, and the temporary suspension signals a shift in China’s trade approach amid ongoing tensions over technology and supply chains with the United States.
