Political analyst and presenter Zillur Rahman said, “The people of the country are concerned and anxious. What will happen on 13 November? No agreement has been reached. Jamaat had said that if their demands are not met, they will announce a strict movement and paralyze Dhaka.
Awami League also has a lockdown program on the same day. According to the media, they have plotted sabotage. On that day, the date of the verdict in Sheikh Hasina’s case is also scheduled. Altogether, the citizens, especially in the capital Dhaka, are in extreme worry and tension.”
He made these remarks recently in a video on his YouTube channel.
Zillur Rahman said, “The government had set a seven-day deadline, which has already passed. It is the government’s responsibility to make a decision. What decision will they take? Earlier they had said they would impose it. Whatever decision is made, it will favor someone and disfavor someone else.”
He added, “For the past two to three days, there has been discussion in the corridors that the government will try to please both sides. They will satisfy the BNP by holding the national election and referendum on the same day. Jamaat will be satisfied by PR in the upper house. But will this PR be acceptable to the BNP? Will BNP agree to it?”
Zillur said, “NCP wants the July charter order. They will sign it after reviewing. Jamaat remains firm on their demand that the referendum must come first. They do not believe that if the referendum and the national parliamentary elections are held on the same day, they will get the desired result. The main point is, Jamaat is at the most crucial time in its political history.”
