Commitment to Boost Trade and Investment between Bangladesh and Malaysia

Bangladesh and Malaysia have expressed hope that continued mutual cooperation will further strengthen their bilateral relationship, especially by increasing trade, investment, and industrial collaboration, which will bring tangible benefits to both countries.

In a message received on Tuesday, it was reported that recently, the Bangladesh High Commissioner to Malaysia, Md. Manjurul Karim Khan Chowdhury, held a meeting with Mr. Siew Seng Ho, Chairman of the Johor Chapter of the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM), and other committee members. During the meeting, discussions were held on ways to enhance economic cooperation between the two friendly nations.

Both sides focused on expanding bilateral trade and investment opportunities, particularly emphasizing cooperation in the industrial sector, joint ventures, and strengthening business connections.

The High Commissioner invited FMM to participate in the ‘Global Sourcing Expo 2025’ in Dhaka, scheduled for December 1-3. He stated that the event would play a vital role in fostering direct contact between entrepreneurs from both countries.

FMM leaders expressed keen interest in exploring the potential for joint ventures in Bangladesh’s garment sector and indicated plans to visit Bangladesh soon with a delegation of business representatives.

The meeting was attended by FMM Vice Chairman Gerard Sanker, Chan Chi Meng, committee members Michael Lok and Jason, Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner Ms. Shahinara Monica, and First Secretary (Trade) Pranab Kumar Ghosh.
