BNP’s Senior Joint Secretary Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has claimed that Dr. Yunus’ administration is providing shelter to his allies. He further stated that Sheikh Hasina is sending audio recordings from India while preparations for sabotage are underway in the country.
He made these comments on Tuesday (November 11) in his speech as the chief guest at the National Solidarity Day discussion program organized by Rajshahi University Chhatra Dal.
Rizvi said, “Sheikh Hasina had hidden democracy under her cloak. Begum Khaleda Zia was denied proper medical care. Now we hear that something may happen on the 13th—how do they gain this courage? The government must take strict action against their allies. The money from Bangladesh Bank, the Padma Bridge, and the flyover projects—everything is in the hands of the Awami League. With that money, they are creating an environment for sabotage. Sheikh Hasina is sending audio messages from India to escalate the chaos.”
He added, “If the July Agreement is not implemented, some people are saying elections will be held in 2029. This is the voice of fascism!”
The senior BNP leader also said, “On November 7, we gained true independence. Late President Ziaur Rahman played the biggest role in that. Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was in an identity crisis at the time, and it was Ziaur Rahman who freed us from that crisis.”
Regarding the independence of educational institutions, Rizvi remarked, “Educational institutions were also affected by the poisonous sting of fascism. There was no coexistence on campus at that time. But now some changes have occurred. The purpose of universities is to ensure the freedom of education and expression. Chhatra Dal will engage in politics with these values.”
During the program, Chhatra Dal’s central organizing secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir said, “There was a lot of irregularity and conspiracy in the RAKSU election. The administration failed to ensure a level playing field. Still, we should have performed better. However, we are not disappointed. Our struggle will continue. Insha Allah, Chhatra Dal will achieve better results in future student union elections.”
