Hero Alam Released on Bail

Content creator Ashraful Alam, also known as Hero Alam, has been granted bail after being arrested in a case filed by his ex-wife Ria Moni with allegations of attempted murder, assault, and intimidation at Hatirjheel Police Station in Dhaka.

On Saturday (15 November), Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md. Rakibul Hasan approved the bail after hearing the case.

He was presented in court and brought to the courtroom at 4:10 pm. Hero Alam’s lawyers requested bail while the plaintiff opposed it. After hearing both sides, the court granted bail on a 200-taka bond. The plaintiff, Ria Moni, was present in court.

Earlier, on 12 November, the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Wahiduzzaman issued arrest warrants against Hero Alam and his associate Ahsan Habib Selim. Acting on the warrant, Hatirjheel Police arrested him on Saturday morning.

According to the case, a recent dispute arose between Hero Alam and Ria Moni, after which Hero Alam divorced her and forced her to leave the house.

On 21 June, to resolve the dispute with the plaintiff’s family, they were called to a house in the Hatirjheel Police Station area. At that time, Hero Alam and 10 to 12 unidentified individuals verbally abused the plaintiff and her family members. Later, they illegally entered the plaintiff’s current residence and beat her with wooden sticks on her head and other parts of her body. The assault caused injuries and the 1.5-tola gold chain around her neck was stolen.

Following this incident, on 23 June, Ria Moni filed a case at Hatirjheel Police Station.
