An attempted arson attack took place at the Jashodal branch of Grameen Bank, located on Station Road in Kishoreganj town. The incident occurred on Sunday (16 November) night on the ground floor of the bank.
Video footage circulating on social media shows a masked individual setting fire while chanting ‘Joy Bangla’. However, people nearby quickly extinguished the flames. Kishoreganj Model Police Station stated that no damage was reported.
Meanwhile, in the Shriramdi area of Pakundia upazila, Awami League activists blocked the road by felling a large lychee tree. As a result, traffic on the Kishoreganj–Pakundia road came to a halt.
According to locals, several individuals arrived on motorcycles, chanting ‘Joy Bangla’, and cut down a lychee tree beside the road, causing the blockade and disrupting vehicle movement.
In addition, ahead of the verdict in a crimes against humanity case, several crude bomb explosions occurred in different parts of the capital on the same night. Around 9pm, explosions were reported in front of Environmental Adviser Rizwana Hasan’s residence, in front of the Banglamotor NCP office, and arson was carried out on a bus in Badda by miscreants.
