A fire was set at the Uttara residence of Habib Hasan, former joint general secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan North Awami League and former Member of Parliament for Dhaka–18 constituency.
On Monday (17 November), following the verdict against Sheikh Hasina in the crimes against humanity case, the incident of setting fire occurred at house number seven on road 23 of sector seven in Uttara.
At that time, a video of the fire spread on social media. The video shows thick black smoke coming out from inside the former MP’s house, with many people standing in front of the building.
Later, the Fire Service stated that the fire was brought under control quickly. However, the extent of the damage was not known immediately.
