Elderly Woman Dies After Being Hit by Motorcycle in Satkania, Chattogram

An elderly woman named Nomita Baidya (65) died after being hit by a motorcycle in Satkania upazila of Chattogram. The accident occurred at around 7 am on Monday in the Bajalia Burir Dokan area on the Bandarban–Keranihat road. The deceased, Nomita Baidya, was a local resident of the area.

Palash Baidya, the son of the deceased, said that on Monday morning his mother was going to collect flowers for a puja. While crossing the road, a speeding motorcycle heading towards Bandarban hit her. Locals rescued her in a critically injured condition and took her to a private hospital in the upazila, where doctors declared her dead.

Satkania Police Station officer-in-charge Abu Mahmud Kawser said that no one had filed any complaint regarding the incident. Necessary legal steps will be taken after gathering information.
