The main accused in the attempted rape case of a 12-year-old child in Sitakunda, Chattogram, has been arrested by the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB). The arrest was confirmed by RAB-7’s Assistant Director (Media), A R M Mozafar Hossain.
The 19-year-old accused, Apurba Das, was apprehended around 2:00 AM on Tuesday (17 November) from the Baman Sundar Dargar Hat Bazaar area in Mirsarai, Chattogram district.
A R M Mozafar Hossain, Assistant Director (Media) of RAB-7, stated, “Based on confidential information, the main accused in the case filed under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act at Sitakunda Police Station, Apurba Das, has been arrested.”
He further mentioned that “Apurba Das has been handed over to the Sitakunda police.”
