Attack on Venezuela Would End Trump’s Political Career: Maduro

A group surrounding U.S. President Donald Trump is reportedly inciting him to launch an attack on Venezuela. However, if Trump falls into this ‘trap’ and carries out an attack on Venezuela, it will mark the end of his political career.

In a televised speech on Tuesday (18 November), Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro made these comments.

Maduro explained that powerful factions within the United States are making efforts to destroy Trump by using Venezuela as a tool.

He stated, “They want President Trump to make the biggest mistake of his life by getting militarily involved against Venezuela, which would be the political end of his leadership and his name.” He added that Trump is being pressured and provoked.

Maduro further said, “This provocation is coming from his opponents and well-known enemies… even from those around him—those who are calculating the post-Trump era. They don’t care if they harm Trump.”

Maduro mentioned that Venezuela is ready for direct dialogue with Washington, but warned, “For the past 16 weeks, there has been (U.S.) threats, psychological aggression, and rush. This is why the Bolivarian National Armed Forces have been revived and deployed. The forces have been expanded and given advanced training. This threat has awakened a community.”

However, last Sunday, Trump had stated that talks with Maduro could happen, as Venezuela is open to discussions.
