6 More Deaths Due to Dengue, 788 Admitted to Hospitals

In the last 24 hours, six more people have died from dengue, and 788 new patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country.

This information was provided in a press release from the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Wednesday (19 November).

According to the statement, 788 dengue patients were admitted to various hospitals in the last 24 hours. Among them, 87 patients were admitted in the Barishal Division, 108 in the Chattogram Division, 130 in areas outside Dhaka City, 166 in North Dhaka City, 86 in South Dhaka City, 66 in Khulna Division, 54 in Mymensingh Division (outside city corporation areas), 88 in Rajshahi Division (outside city corporation areas), and 3 in Sylhet Division (outside city corporation areas).

Meanwhile, 973 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals on the same day. This brings the total number of discharges for the year to 84,570.

Since January this year, a total of 87,712 people have been admitted to hospitals due to dengue, and 349 people have died from the disease.

From January to December 2024, 101,214 patients were admitted, and 575 deaths occurred. In 2023, a total of 321,179 people were hospitalized due to dengue, and 1,705 died from the disease.
