BNP Leader Killed in Sylhet hit by Brickc

Abdur Rahman (65), a BNP leader, was killed after being struck with a brick following an argument in the Pirer Bazar area of Shah Paran Thana, Sylhet city. He served as the General Secretary of Kadirpara Union BNP and was a caretaker of Shah Sundor Mazaar. He passed away on Thursday (20 November) while receiving treatment.

According to reports, on Wednesday evening, Abdur Rahman had an argument with the accused, Suman Ahmed, over urinating by the roadside. At one point, Suman threw a brick at Abdur Rahman’s head, causing serious injuries. He was admitted to Osmani Medical College Hospital and died on Thursday morning while undergoing treatment.

After the incident, Suman was admitted to hospital with injuries but later fled the facility.

Mohammad Saiful Islam, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media) of Sylhet Metropolitan Police, said that the body was handed over to the family after an autopsy.

No case has been filed yet regarding the incident. Senior police officials have inspected the scene.
