Another Earthquake Felt in Dhaka’s Baipail Within 24 Hours

Another earthquake has been felt in Baipail, Gazipur, Dhaka, within 24 hours. The tremor was recorded by the Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre of the Department of Meteorology.

The tremor was recorded at 10:36am on Saturday, 22 November, with a magnitude of 3.3 on the Richter scale.

Nizam Uddin Ahmed, the professional assistant on duty at the Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre, confirmed the information. He said, “This is a minor earthquake. Its epicentre is Baipail.”

Earlier on Friday morning, an earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale was felt 13 kilometres east of Dhaka. The quake claimed the lives of 10 people, including two children. Among them, four died in Dhaka, five in Narsingdi, and one in Narayanganj. Several hundred people were injured across various districts.
