Brothers Sohel Rana and Rubel Mourn the Loss of Kamal Parvez

Bir Muktijoddha, film producer and actor Kamal Parvez has passed away. He died early Saturday (22 November) while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Dhaka. He was 72. Kamal Parvez was the brother of actors Sohel Rana and Rubel.

The news of his death was confirmed by Sohel Rana’s son, Mashroor Parvez. He said that Kamal Parvez leaves behind his wife, two sons and a daughter, along with relatives and well-wishers.

Mashroor stated that his uncle had been ill for some time. On Friday morning, when his condition worsened, he was admitted to hospital. He was then taken to the ICU, and when his health further deteriorated, he was placed on life support, where he eventually died. He requested prayers for Kamal Parvez.

Mashroor further informed that the funeral prayer was held after Zuhr today at the Uttara Sector 5 Jame Mosque. He will be buried at the Martyred Intellectuals’ Graveyard in Mirpur.

Sohel Rana, Rubel and their brothers total five. Kamal Parvez was the third among them. Their family names are Masud Parvez (Sohel Rana), Jewel Parvez, Nehal Parvez and Masum Parvez (Rubel).

In the film industry, Kamal Parvez produced several films including Bishwopremik, Birpurush, Ami Shahenshah, Khuner Porinam and Chardike Andhakar. In the film Birpurush, the three brothers—Sohel Rana, Rubel and Kamal Parvez—acted together.
