Volunteer Wing Leader Quits Politics After Bathing in Milk in Thakurgaon

In Thakurgaon’s Sadar Upazila, Mohammad Tushar Ali, a leader of the Swechchhasebak Dal, announced his resignation from politics after bathing himself in milk.

The incident took place on Sunday (23 November) afternoon in front of his shop at Khochabari Bazar in Jagannathpur Union. After bathing in milk, he publicly declared his resignation.

It is known that Mohammad Tushar Ali had been serving as the general secretary of Ward No. 7 of the Swechchhasebak Dal in Jagannathpur Union.

He claimed that he had worked for the party for many years and had faced political harassment on various occasions. However, he said he had not received any recognition in recent times.

Tushar Ali mentioned that he had endured hardships during the party’s difficult days and had been subjected to harassment, yet he remained loyal. But when he realised that his sacrifice and efforts were not being valued, he felt his labour had gone in vain. This lack of recognition deeply hurt him.

He further said he felt that he might have accumulated sins during his long involvement in politics. Therefore, he bathed in milk to spiritually cleanse himself and announced his resignation from BNP’s politics.

Md Robiul Islam, general secretary of Jagannathpur Union BNP, said that Tushar Ali had been serving as the general secretary of Ward No. 7 of the Swechchhasebak Dal.
