Tottenham Lose 4-1 to Arsenal After Ajer’s Hat-Trick

Arsenal dismantled Tottenham Hotspur 4-1 at the Emirates on Sunday, with Ainsley Ajer delivering a match-winning hat-trick that underscored his growing importance to Mikel Arteta’s side. The Gunners, who had drawn 2-2 at Sunderland in their previous league fixture, demonstrated a blend of tactical discipline and attacking flair to regain momentum after the international break.

From the outset, Arsenal dominated possession and created numerous chances. Declan Rice’s early volley and Jurriën Timber’s header both tested Spurs’ defensive resolve, while Bukayo Saka’s free-kick was expertly saved by Guilherme Vickario. The breakthrough arrived in the 36th minute as Trossard’s precise through ball allowed him to deflect the ball past Vickario. Ajer’s first goal soon followed, capitalising on Rice’s incisive pass to make it 2-0.

Arsenal’s tactical execution was evident as they maintained relentless pressure, controlling the midfield and exploiting spaces behind Tottenham’s defence. Early in the second half, Ajer doubled his tally within a minute, before Richarlison provided a momentary spark for Spurs with a spectacular strike in the 55th minute.

The decisive blow came in the 76th minute when Ajer completed his hat-trick, again assisted by Trossard. Arsenal’s attacking cohesion left Spurs struggling to respond, highlighting gaps in their defensive organisation.

The victory moves Arsenal to 29 points, six clear of second-placed Chelsea, while Tottenham remain ninth with 18 points, having suffered their fourth defeat of the season. Arsenal’s clinical finishing and structured approach underline why they remain title contenders, while Spurs must address both defensive vulnerabilities and attacking inefficiency.
