Ahead of the thirteenth national parliamentary election, the Election Commission (EC) has temporarily suspended National Identity Card (NID) correction activities. According to EC sources, the service has been halted from 4 pm on Monday (24 November).
Md Saiful Islam, Director (Operations) of the National Identity Registration Wing, told the media that NID correction services will remain suspended until further instruction. He added that the activities will resume promptly once the situation returns to normal.
EC sources further stated that the voter list has been finalised and the printing process has now begun. To maintain transparency and accuracy in this crucial pre-election phase, it has become necessary to temporarily stop NID correction services.
