Overseas Voter Registration Begins in 16 Countries Including the US and Canada

Voter registration for overseas Bangladeshis residing in 16 countries, including the United States, Canada, and Australia, will begin from midnight on Monday (24 November). Registration can be completed via the Postal Vote BD app, and the process will continue until 28 November.

According to a statement from the Department of Information, voter registration will start today in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Cuba, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Panama, Honduras, Haiti, Nicaragua, Guatemala, the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, and the Bahamas.

The Election Commission has stated that registration for overseas Bangladeshis living in East Asia, South America, and Africa will also remain open until 28 November.

For the first time, overseas Bangladeshis have been provided the opportunity to vote via postal ballots. During the registration period, the Election Commission has also set up a 24-hour help desk to assist applicants.
